In the case of probate clearances, our clients’ objective is often to quickly prepare a property for sale or occupation and they need a business to remove remaining furniture and other household effects.
If requested at the time of booking or with sufficient advance notice, we can also provide a cleaning service for the day of the clearance, to leave the property clean and tidy.
We work hard to reduce the costs of a probate clearance where any of the items in the property are readily saleable, but we should emphasise that we do not buy used furniture, which rarely commands more than a nominal price. We can help you to store and sell items of value for an agreed fee. With your consent and where possible, we like to donate useable items to charitable causes, which in 2021 includes the British Heart Foundation, St Anne’s Hospice, Stockport Homes, Oxfam and Renewal North West.
If you have a specific charity in mind, we will gladly ask them what items they accept by way of donations. Please note that most charities will only accept items that are in good enough condition to resell in their shops and in the case of soft furnishings, these must carry fire safety labels.

We are keeping a watchful eye on the government guidelines. Everyone in the team has been equipped with face masks and sanitiser for any house visits, prior to clearance. The UK average trade waste cost is £200.00 per tonne. Most companies use Luton vans for their flexibility and payload capacity of up to 1.2 tonnes. Also, there are specific items for which clearance companies will have to pay extra to recycle. See below. |
